Head, shoulders, knees and toes, knees and toes – Jolanda en Janniek
Friday 14:30- 16:30
Location – Visserlaan A
How do you start a movement? Where in your body do you start the movement from?
Ask a dozen people where their knee is and you’ll know what they’ll answer.
Ask a dozen people where they dance from and you get as many different answers.
Together we are going to find out how different we all move. What movements we prefer and how to use that in our leading and following. Have you ever tried to lead with your right elbow? Here you will! Are you ready to break down dancing to movements and philosophize on their origin, then using those building blocks to build a dance again? Then this is the workshop for you.
This class is intermediate/advanced level and you should feel comfortable dancing a scottish/mazurka without thinking about it too much.
About the teachers:
Jolanda and Janniek have been dancing balfolk for years and despite steps into the world of lindy hop, blues and tango, they keep coming back. They found each other in their way of dancing and their way of teaching and love to discover new ways of dancing and explaining dance. Their workshops are usually filled with weird concepts, serious dancing and the never tiring Sven.
