Singing Bourre Auvergnate – Quaus de Lanla
Sunday 12:00 – 14:00
Location – Groene Ring
In the Auvergne, a traditionally poor region in the middle of France, there is a strong singing culture. With little money for instruments, the voice is something we all have. And singing together is a beautiful way to connect with your friends and neighbours.
Eric Desgrugilliers, Sébastien Guerrier and Didier Décombat met while working and exploring the repertoire and practices of the “chant à danser”* from the center of France region : Auvergne & Massif Central. Convinced of the voice as a particularly efficient way to make people dance, they created the band Quaus de Lanla in 2012. This trio gives us polkas, mazurkas, scottishs and bourrées…where stories are told and voices roll, answer or collide to one another, all at the service of an amazing dance energy !
In this workshop they will teach you some specific aspects of a bourree, how to sing them in a way that both singers and dancers really can feel the bourree. No experience with singing is needed.
Places in the music workshops are limited, so to join this workshop, it’s important to register. You can do this by filling out this form.
