The Men’s Circle – Roald Penning
A meeting in brotherhood, presence and authenticity.
This is an opportunity to let go of our facades and have a real, honest meeting with other men. You don’t have to pretend to be anything: Come as you are. Instead of having to be a certain kind of man, this is an invitation to drop your mask, stop trying to change the way things are, and be present with each other.
Why a men’s circle?
I used to be a man who always felt more at home with women. I could be myself in their gentle, warm presence. With men, I often felt like I had to prove something. That was, until I experienced my first men’s workshop: The sense of brotherhood, the vulnerability, the raw power, it was incredible! I hadn’t realized that I actually missed this in my life.
Now, 2017, I’ve been part of my own men’s group for almost seven, and leading groups for more than four years. The sense of brotherhood I experience there, the honest and deep connections, it’s a very rich part of my life. And I feel driven to share this experience with every man who is willing to dive in.
What to expect?
This workshop will consist of:
-Physical and meditative exercises to get out of your head and into your body
-Circling (or “authentic relating”): Communicate honestly and authentically, and deepen the connection with yourself and others
-Being present and connected to what is: When we stop trying to change things, life has a tendency to open up in unexpected ways. Let’s find out what happens…
In this workshop everybody is welcome, who is a male, or seriously identifies as a male.
